how to dye and print pillow cases for Kayo Dot

Things that I am glad exist:
• Kayo Dot pillowcases
• This photo set from Blue Collar Industries documenting their creation.
• Kittens

wrapping up and such

Last night’s show at The Knitting Factory was great. Getting to play three shows with the lovely people of Earth was indeed a spring time treat for the ears, and I love treats. Needless to say, I’m pretty excited about heading to Europe at the end of the month for the next round of shows. If you haven’t heard Gregor Samsa’s new album yet, you should look into it, it’s fantastic. (it’s on emusic, Yazdi, you love emusic)

Johnny Brenda’s, Philadelphia

Here is what I ate for breakfast in Baltimore the morning before the Philly show: A massive portion of cinnamon roll, Crab Benedict, and a dozen cups of coffee.

These, combined with wasabi peas, are what lead to a solid and tight performance. Take note.

D.C. photos

brandonwu has some great shots up on flickr from our show in D.C. Here’s a link to the set.

Rock and Roll Hotel, D.C.

After a string of am delays, including a bike tour in brooklyn blocking access to our practice space, we actually made it to DC at a reasonable time and in reasonable spirits.

The show went well, sure feels great to play live with this group again.

An Albatross
guitarist Daniel Schlett is apparently my cousin

Apes
Apes will be all your friend’s favorite band next year

in case you thought I was cool, the internet will tell you otherwise

The March Kayo Dot tour went off without a hitch. I don’t know why it was so surprising to me, but I didn’t realize that going on tour basically meant that I got to listen to awesome live music every night for a week. I’ll put up a del.icio.us post soon full of fine bands you should look into.

Also: the next round of shows are up on the myspace page (opening for Earth for a weekend in May and then off to Europe). The band is sounding really great, so you should make it out if you can.
